2025 SOCO Resolutions Committee Report

The Resolutions Committee, appointed by SOCO President Aaron Lack, consisted of Bruce Kenney (Chair), Stewart Williams, Andy Bruck, Patty Hurd, Patrick Plunk, and Sakira Harley. The only resolution submitted concerned DEIA, which was previously approved by the Eastern Conference of Locals. 

Our committee met via Zoom on June 2, 2025. We reviewed the submitted resolution, and after due consideration of the importance and continued relevance of DEIA initiatives in our industry, we adapted the wording of said resolution to read “Southern Conference” where the wording “Eastern Conference” appeared. We also edited it to remove the word “and” at the end of the final “Whereas” paragraph, and include the word “Therefore” at the beginning of the “Be it resolved” paragraph.
